Learn to Sew: Homewares and Accessories
Monday 24th February - 24th March 18.30 - 20.30
Want to learn how to sew but don't know where to start? Go from zero to sewing hero at our five-week sewing course for beginners in our studio in South London.
We’ll start strong, by learning how to use the sewing machine and completing our first project in the very first session. You’ll get to choose between making a cushion cover or a tote bag to whip up and take home.
We’ll then get to grips with a variety of techniques that you will use throughout your sewing life, including patchwork, applique, sewing zips, buttons and buttonholes and more. You’ll then get to use your new skills to tackle a homeware or accessories project of your choosing, based on our collection of patterns.
You’ll leave this course with the foundational skills and confidence to move forward on your creative path, along with at least two unique projects to cherish and show off with pride.

This sewing course for beginners will take place in our fully-equipped sewing studio in South London. In addition to essential tools, we will provide one cushion insert, a zip, buttons and fabric scraps.
You will need 1 meter of fabric for your first cushion/tote bag and the same for your final project. A medium weight woven fabric, like cotton poplin, linen, African wax print cotton or light weight denim is ideal. These projects will not work in stretch fabrics. You can bring your own or buy fabric from our studio. Feel free to get in touch before the class to discuss fabric choices.
If you would like to practice sewing on your own machine please feel free to bring it along.
