Sew WHAT? Make Mee @ Circle Collective

A series of mending and upcycling workshops with Lewisham based sewing social enterprise Make Mee Studio in store at the Lewisham branch of amazing charity and social enterprise Circle Collective.

Encouraging people to think more about where their clothes come from and where they go when they are ‘thrown away’ and the positive environmental impact of repairing and re-wearing what they already own or things that are pre-loved. 

Learn Patch & StITCH Rework Techniques

Saturday 12th April 11:00 - 13:00

  • Join us in store at Circle Collective in Lewisham Shopping Centre to learn how to upcycle, rework and repair your tired old clothing with hand embroidery and applique techniques. 

    Drop in, space limited. You can register to secure your spot. 

  • Open to all ages. Adults and young people. 

    Children aged 8+ (children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult)

    All our teachers are DBS checked.

  • Materials and equipment will be provided.

    Bring along an item of clothing to rework or buy something in store on the day. 

    You can also practice on our scrap fabrics.

  • Donations will be welcome on the day.

    If you do not arrive within the first 15 minutes of the workshop your place may be given to someone walking in on the day.

Learn to Sew
Recycled sRUNCHIES

Saturday 10th May 11:00 - 13:00

  • We will show you how to turn forgotten items of clothing into scrunchies! You can pick from making a regular style scrunchie or take on more of a challenge with an on trend flower or giant layered scrunchie.

  • Open to all ages. Adults and young people. Children aged 8+ (children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult) 

    All our teachers are DBS checked.

  • All materials and equipment provided.

    Deadstock materials will be provided by Circle Collective. 

    We will be using sewing machines and sharp scissors and pins during this workshop. 

Learn to sew an upcycled
Across Body bag

Saturday 17th May 11:00 - 13:00

  • Turn a pair of jeans or other unwanted garms into a fashionable across body bag. Learn how to sew in a zip, create adjustable handles and save these forgotten clothes from landfill!

  • Open to all ages. Adults and young people. Children aged 8+ (children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult) 

    All our teachers are DBS checked.

  • All materials and equipment provided.

    Deadstock materials will be provided by Circle Collective. 

    We will be using sewing machines and sharp scissors and pins during this workshop.
