2025 dates are coming - along with a new shiny website which should go live by 25th November more updates soon...
Our Sew Your Own Way sessions (formerly Sewing Surgeries) will give you the help you need to make progress on tricky projects while taking the time to unwind with your sewing. Bring along a query or a project and our experienced teachers will be there to guide you on your way.
Thanks to popular demand, you can now book a bundle of four classes. In these sessions, you can work on a sewing project of your choosing across four sessions with on-demand support from our helpful expert teachers. This is the perfect class for people tackling patterns that are beyond their sewing abilities or looking to learn new techniques with tailored (no pun intended!) guidance and advice.
We welcome sewers of all levels, including beginners but you do need to know how to thread the machine. Attendees can bring their own projects or tackle something from our extensive pattern library. You’re in the driver’s seat and we’re here to help!
Who’s it for:
These sessions are for people of all sewing abilities who need more focused guidance or a boost of confidence. You need some sewing experience but we’re also happy to give you a refresher if you’re a bit rusty.
If you know what you're doing but you want some company whilst you sew check out our Sewcials.
We can offer hands on guidance on:
Materials
We have a selection of fabrics and trims in the studio which you can purchase or you can bring your own. You’re welcome to use any tools and equipment available in our spacious studio, including our sewing machines, overlockers, threads, needles and more, but feel free to bring your own.
" Jaime and Tracey have helped me fulfil my lifelong dream of learning to sew. After confidence knocking nightmares from my school days and bad experiences on other courses i didn't think i would see the day but their friendly, down to earth and positive natures make you feel un-judged and like you can achieve anything. On top of my lack of confidence, i came with a time sensitive project and booked last minute and Jaime went out of her way to help me finish on time, and her varied skillset and expert knowledge means she can give advice on a range of projects. I highly recommend make mee, especially if you are a bit anxious about starting because the atmosphere is very chilled and accepting." Vikki
"Tracey and Jaime provided a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere in which to tackle the various sewing projects that everyone brought with them. They are a fount of knowledge and did a great job of spending time with everyone even though we were all working on completely different things. I have been to the sewing surgeries a number of times now and its always a friendly bunch - and not forgetting the cake! Would recommend it to anyone who is keen to progress their sewing in a friendly and fun group." Kathyrn
If you know what you're doing and don't need that much help, you might want to check out our Sewcial.
