Sewing on the sewing machine isn't just about making clothes and cushions! Make Mee co-director Jaime is a trained textile designer and creative stitching is one of her specialties. Come and learn how to do free machine embroidery, appliqué and creative patch working.
You can use these techniques on homewares, clothes or to make beautiful wall hangings.
We won't be working on a finished item, we will help you to create samples of each of the techniques (You can of course go on to turn these into something beautiful!)
THINGS TO REMEMBER
We will provide a hoop for your art work. We have a selection of fabrics and trims in the studio which you are free to use for this workshop
If you would like to bring your own fabric you are more than welcome to.
Feel free to get in touch before the class to discuss fabric choices. If you would like to practice sewing on your own machine please feel free to bring it along.
It's best if you come to this class with a tiny bit of sewing knowledge. If you are an experienced stitcher we've got a few tricks up our sleeve to challenge you! Suitable for adults and children (age 8+).
If you are a complete beginner but want to join why not come in the morning on this day to our beginners make cushion / tote bag class first, have a break for lunch the join us for creative stitching?
